Founder Overview:
Shawn began his career as a database developer at 19. He augmented his practical experience with formal education, earning a Business Administration degree from Regis University (Denver, CO) and an MBA from Portland State University (Portland, OR) with Engineering Technology Management electives from the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. This unique blend of technical acumen and business education bridges the gap between complex technological solutions and real-world business needs, inspiring the founding of Baleen Data.
His consulting work has taken him throughout North America, collaborating with numerous Fortune 100/500 clients and presenting at national and international conferences on data technology and business applications. This comprehensive background has equipped him with valuable insights into leveraging technology for business enhancement.
Shawn has contributed to academia by developing and teaching curriculum at undergraduate, graduate, and professional certificate levels in Data Analysis, Data Engineering, and Data Storytelling. He continues teaching at the graduate level while also serving as a graduate data science capstone advisor at Portland State University. This experience and academic perspective enhance his ability to guide organizations through their data-driven transformation journeys.
